Happy New Year

Classic Custom Whitehall Spirit¨ Westcoast 11' 6"

Classic Green Rowboat

Here's another custom classic Whitehall Spirit¨ Westcoast 11' 6" just off our production floor. This one is a traditional fixed seat model with leather collars and Sitka Spruce spoon oars. It's in the process of being shipped to an owner located in Germany.

Come and see us at the Seattle Boat Show Jan 21 - 30

In less than a week we will be set up at our favorite boat show at the Qwest Field Event Center in Seattle. The show this year runs from January 21 to January 30 and we are back in the East Hall at booth 1911. Come and meet with us in person. Marie Hutchinson, Andrea Guyon, Colin Rolls and myself will be there and look forward to seeing you..

Show 2009

The boats featured will be the Classic Whitehall Spirit¨ 17 Expedition and a classic Whitehall Spirit¨ 14 slide seat model. The Tango 17 and the Solo 14 models will be on display as well. We have a special show offer for those who order at the show for a spring delivery.

It's official! The Whitehall Spirit Rowing Club franchise is now available for sale in Washington State. We are currently in discussions with a few people regarding setting up rowing clubs in the Seattle area. If you are interested in finding out more about this excellent business opportunity come and see us at the show.

It has been almost a year since the grand opening of the Whitehall Spirit Rowing Club here in Victoria. Since then I've had the pleasure to meet many new people... some long time rowers... some new to the sport. One common theme is people's appreciation for being able to easily go rowing at their convenience, get a little fresh air and exercise and enjoy the beautiful waterways right here in our urban center.

Myself and WSRC members are constantly amazed at the abundance of sea life right in our working harbour. During row training sessions exclamations often include "WOW! Look at this friendly seal!" or... "I've lived here for years and have never seen this before". Most new club members can't wait to tell their friends and family about the exciting wildlife they've seen while out rowing.

I usually have my blackberry phone with me and often take shots of what we see on our row. Here are a few of my recent favorites...
